In all technical purposes this game was over by the 2nd inning, with Bronson Arroyo surrendering 9 runs in an inning of work plus. We could see Ryan Braun’s grand slam leaving the park before he hit it and he didn’t let us down. Everyone gets healthy and improves their numbers against the Reds at Great American Ball Park.

Jay Bruce continued to be the consummate pro. Bruce walked, singled to extend his hitting streak (shhh) to 7 games, and hit his 7th home run of the season. It was an opposite field blast off Jorge Julio.
Dusty Baker raised the flag early, pulling out regulars Joey Votto and Willy Taveras to get them some much needed innings off.
The Reds come out tonight and face the Brew Crew again, and they need this win to avoid falling back to .500 for the season. We’d expect Micah Owings to pitch well, since his spot in the rotation should start depending on his quality of starts with Homer Bailey getting everyone out in AAA.
